Aluminosilicate Transparent Gauge Glass DIN 7081 is also named Ai-Si gauge glass and Plain Gauge Glass.Its typical characteristic is two-sided polished and tempered and made from specific glass material types-commonly Aluminosilicate which results in products characterized by high mechanical strength and high resistance to alkalis, acids and condensates.
Aluminosilicate gauge glass is usually used wherever pressure loads occur at temperatures above 300°C, up to 375°C. Aluminosilicate gauge glass has higher temperature resistance than borosilicate glass, which is used to replace the extreme environment that borosilicate gauge glass is not competent for. Due to different production difficulties, the price of aluminosilicate gauge glass is obvious higher than borosilicate Level Gauge Glass.
The aluminosilicate Level Gauge Glass is usually used with mica shield to avoid fluid corrosion and maximize the working pressure and temperature.
